I just couldn’t wait to get the box ripped open and my hands on my book! My friend Mike, who helped me to collect my book from Troubadour publishers stood over me and starting filming as I tried to use my keys to cut the tape from the box. No, that wasn’t working very well. I asked Abby (Mike’s wife) to go into the kitchen to fetch some scissors. As she looked around the kitchen for them, I used my nails to pick at the sticky tape and eventually found my purchase. Yes! I started to pull back the tape which sealed the cardboard box containing several of my autobiographical books. I turned to Mike and said,
“Mate, it feels like Xmas!”
I have to say this was one of my proudest moments of my life and one of the most exciting. Whatever happens now, at least I know that my long awaited work was now in print. My parents and family will be so incredibly overjoyed and my many friends who have helped me throughout the years are mentioned in my book.
I gave the very first copy to Mike and Abby who have become dear friends to me. Once they had left my company I made multiple journeys up the stairs to take the remaining boxes of 200 books to my man cave (extension room) to keep my turbo trainer, race tandem and drum kit company. Now the exciting journey of promoting and book signing begins. I really hope everyone enjoys the read and gets a little insight into my personal journey and life.
